2. Bangladesh – Copyright Act 2000 (as amended 2023), Chapter 6 Section 36 & Chapter 13 Section 72
Fair use / fair dealing is permitted for “private or personal use, including research” and non-profit educational purposes. Non-commercial personal copying of lawfully accessed works is explicitly allowed.
3. European Union – InfoSoc Directive 2001/29/EC, Article 5(2)(b)
Member States may provide an exception for “reproductions on any medium made by a natural person for private use and for ends that are neither directly nor indirectly commercial.” This private-copying exception covers personal downloads.
